The broader All Share Index shut down .22 per cent, or 26.90 points, at 12,006 although the S&P SL20 Index closed down .21 p.c, or 7.51 points, at 3,565.
Turnover was at 2.5 billion. Banking companies (Rs675mn) and the food items, beverage and tobacco (Rs568mn) sectors brought in most of the benefit.
Hatton Countrywide Financial institution Plc was the most traded stock at 404 million rupees in turnover. The share shut down at 199.00.
